The Commerce Bank Five Boro Bike Tour is on May 4, 2008. A group of us are going, and we thought it'd be fun to pedal along with some fellow music fans! It's the biggest 'recreational cycling event' (not a race!) in the country, so come out and show your New York pride.
Ride car-free through New York City with Team FUV - join Rita Houston's Cycling Team FUV and 30,000 other cyclists for the ultimate tour of this great biking town.

The journey starts in Lower Manhattan. We'll head north through the heart of Manhattan to Central Park and continue on to historic Harlem and the Bronx, returning south along the East River on the FDR Drive. From there we'll cross into Queens and then Brooklyn, where cyclists take over the highway before making the thrilling climb up - and down - the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to Staten Island. The route is 42 miles, mostly flat except for the bridges.
There's a celebratory Festival at Fort Wadsworth in Gateway National Recreation Area at the end of the ride. And bring your camera - there's a photo contest too. (Rita snapped these pics during the 2006 Bike Tour.)
If you want to ride with us, send us your name, email address and t-shirt size below. We'll email the whole FUV team prior to the May 4 to confirm our meeting place at the start and end of the tour.
Registration is full, so you must be registered already to join us. If you haven't registered through the official web site at bikenewyork.org, you are not registered. We may have an extra registration or two available through WFUV, and we'll get back to those who have inquired already. Thanks for joining us, see you May 4!
