WFUV Annual Gala 2009

Honoring Paul Simon, Dick Enberg and Jim Lehrer

WFUV Public Radio from Fordham University followed up last year's successful debut with an event at The Puck Building on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 honoring musician Paul Simon, sportscaster Dick Enberg, and PBS newsman Jim Lehrer.

New Yorker Paul Simon was presented with the 'Sound and Vision Award,' and performed a short set for the guests: "Mrs. Robinson/Not Fade Away," "Slip Sliding Away," "Duncan," "Graceland," "The Boxer," "Me and Julio," and ended with "Sounds of Silence."

Some of the bold-faced names in the room included: John McEnroe, Bob Costas, Frankie Faison, Jill Sobule, Phoebe Snow, Nicole Atkins, Jonatha Brooke, Dennis Diken (of The Smithereens) and sportscaster Bob Papa. What a crowd! Thanks again to all the celebrants, and the members of the WFUV Advisory Board.
