Celebrate Brooklyn

St. Vincent - FUV Live from Celebrate Brooklyn - 2014

Since the release of St. Vincent's ferociously beautiful self-titled album earlier this year—her fourth solo record—Brooklyn-based Annie Clark's assured ascendance as rock 'n' roll's astonishing guitar-shredding goddess, with silver hair and a sci-fi sparkle in her eye, has been thrilling to watch. So what better way to close out Celebrate Brooklyn's starry 2014 summer season last Saturday night at the Prospect Park Bandshell than with St. Vincent's brilliantly unconventional, explosive show, broadcast live on FUV? Happily, you can revisit that extraordinary night now in the FUV Vault.

The National - FUV Live from Celebrate Brooklyn - 2014

The National kicked off the first of three nights at Celebrate Brooklyn with an amazing performance in front of a sold out crowd in Prospect Park. The band ran through a nearly two hour set filled with fan favorites like "Bloodbuzz Ohio" and "Fake Empire" while mixing in some great surprises, too. They had the crowd captivated from start to finish, and it's clear that The National have taken their live show to a whole new level.

Jack Johnson - FUV Live from Celebrate Brooklyn - 2014

It was quite a night at Prospect Park Bandshell, as Jack Johnson and his band played in Brooklyn for the first time ever. And it was a perfect, laid-back start to a series of live broadcasts FUV will be doing from Celebrate Brooklyn this "Summer of FUV." Aside from playing songs from his latest album, To Here To Now To You, Jack treated the sold-out crowd to a setlist from all across his catalog, threw in a few covers, and invited up some special guests: Afie Jurvanen of Bahamas (who opened the show) and members of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.
