Morning Brief: September 15

Brooklyn's in the limelight.

Brooklyn's being showcased in a number of upcoming movies, starting with The Drop which opened Friday. The crime drama, which stars Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini, was filmed in neighborhoods like Forte Green, Marine Park and Bed-Stuy to create a mythological version of the borough and it's underworld. The Liam Neeson thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones and the Bill Murray comedy St. Vincent are also both set in Brooklyn and shot on location. The first opens later this week on the 19th, and the other next month on October 27.
