Admininstration officials testified today during a City Council Hearing on the response to the December 2010 blizzard.
Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith admitted that the city's response was not as effective as it should have been.
At the hearing he leveled with the crowd, saying "look, we didn't do the job you expected. We didn't do the job that residents of New York City expected. Lots of mistakes were made [and] we acknowledge those. We're here to learn from those mistakes and promise to do better in the future."
Goldsmith outlined a 15 point action plan to address the issues that arose during last month's blizzard.
Improvements include establishing a formal protocol to declare snow emergencies and an outline portal where citizens can post photos and videos to provide emergency responders with real time information.
