NYC Blizzard Response Considered A Success

Most seem to agree that New York City's performance tackling the latest snowstorm was a big improvement on its handling of last month's blizzard.

The city did get much less snow--about nine inches was reported in Central Park. But Mayor Bloomberg says the response to this storm was unparalleled.

"Our goal in this storm was not merely to get back to business as usual as you know. Our goal was to deploy a more effective snow response operation than ever," said the Mayor.

Bloomberg said the response was to be "more aggressive, more accountable, and based on the lessons we've learned in the last storm, that’s what we’ve done."

The worst of the latest storm is being felt in New England--parts of Connecticut are seeing up to 30 inches of snow.
