Bloomberg to Officiate Gay Marriage Ceremony

It's history in the making for two high-profile New York City officials.

New York City Mayor Bloomberg will tie the knot for John Feinblatt, his Chief Policy Advisor and Criminal Justice Coordinator and Jonathan Mintz, the city’s Consumer Affairs Commissioner this Sunday at Gracie Mansion.

Mintz said he’s thrilled their ceremony will help usher in the first day gay marriage becomes legal in the state. “There’s a strong message sent when you have to pack your bags and leave the state to do something everybody else around you is doing,” said Mintz.

Mintz said he’s honored his boss, the mayor, will be presiding over his ceremony.  He called Bloomberg a hero on getting gay marriage passed in New York.

The couple will exchange vows after having spent fourteen years together.
