Renovation of Tarrytown Station Nearly Complete

A three-year, $38 million renovation of the Tarrytown Metro-North station is nearly complete.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Sept. 14.

MTA spokeswoman Marjorie Anders says the "old, brown, rusty station with crumbling concrete" has been replaced with "green-painted steel, beautiful history details and a wider overpass."

The overpass features artwork inspired by the turn-of-the-century Hudson River School.

On the platforms, period-inspired street lampposts have replaced fluorescent lights.

About 6,000 commuters pass through the station every weekday.
