Spitzer, Weiner Top Names in New Poll of NYC Races

A new poll shows Eliot Spitzer is leading in his comeback campaign for a top New York City office.
Days after launching his city comptroller bid, former governor Spitzer shot to a 48-33 percent lead over Democratic rival Scott Stringer among registered Democrats in the Quinnipiac University poll released Monday.
Ex-congressman Anthony Weiner is also doing well in his comeback bid among those polled. He gets 25% of the Democratic primary vote for mayor in the poll. Rival Christine Quinn gets 22%, William Thompson 11% and Bill de Blasio 10%.
Spitzer and Weiner also have been the top percentage getters in some previous polls.
The poll surveyed 738 registered Democrats. Its margin of error is 3.6 percentage points.
