Government Shutdown Now a Reality

The Senate and House couldn’t reach agreement on a spending bill before midnight, so the federal government’s going into a partial shutdown—the first since 1995.  The Statue of Liberty will be closed until a new spending bill is passed, and WNYC has a handy explainer saying what else will be affected.
