Hundreds have gathered in New York City to protest Iran President Hassan Rouhani during his remarks before the U.N. General Assembly.

Former U.S. diplomats John Bolton and Bill Richardson were expected to address the crowd Thursday. Former South Dakota Sen. Tom Daschle and Kerry Kennedy were also expected to speak.

Security was tight in the plaza outsides the U.N. complex as chanting protesters donning yellow ponchos gathered in the rainfall.
