Since immigrating from England in 2003, James Maddock has been an active member of the NYC music scene. He's become friends with Garland Jeffreys and Willie Nile and, like them, earned the admiration of a certain Jersey guy, Bruce Springsteen.

After co-producing Garland's latest album and accompanying Willie on a Sunday Supper session in June, James returned to WFUV with his own trio for this session in Studio A, ahead of concerts at SOPAC (with Willie) on November 10 and the Long Island Museum on November 19.

The always-affable Brit performed three songs from his timely new album, Insanity vs. Humanity, and though the songs are driven in part by anger at these political times, they are also infused with much-needed compassion.
