Malloy to Take Oath Office for 2nd Connecticut Governor Term
It's Inauguration Day in Hartford, as Democrat Gov. Dannel. P. Malloy is poised to take the oath of office for a second term.
Wednesday also marks the opening day of this year's General Assembly session.
The pomp and circumstance is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., when Malloy swears in Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman. Afterward, both will brave predicted frigid temperatures, along with the other constitutional officers, in the traditional inaugural parade.
Malloy will be sworn in at 1:30 p.m. at the state armory. Later in the afternoon, he's scheduled to give his State of the State Address to state lawmakers, laying out his vision for the new legislative session.
The day will be capped off with an inaugural ball, to be held at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
