Fordham Conversations: Up and Down the Bronx's Grand Concourse
Grand Concourse has the largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the world.
First, Lloyd Ulatan (the Bronx Borough Historian) tells us about the history of Grand Concourse which still has the largest number of Art Deco buildings in the world.
Then, Ultan describes the Loews Paradise Theater, which cost millions to build in the 1920s. The extravagant theater was the epitome of elegance in the Bronx and is still standing today, although it's used very differently.
And finally, Patrice Kane takes us inside Fordham University's Archives and tells us about a bell with a special connection to former Bronxite Edgar Allen Poe.
