Dennis Elsas - Celebrating John Lennon

LENNONNYC is a wonderful new film exploring John’s life in New York during the '70s. I’m honored that I’m in the movie presenting highlights of my historic 1974 interview with him. It will premiere on PBS November 22nd as part of their American Masters series, but there are special advance screenings and my radio special this week as we celebrate what would have been John’s 70th Birthday.

» Thursday, October 7th:

On Thursday, LENNONYC will be presented at The Paley Center in midtown New York City at 7PM, followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers, Dick Cavett and myself.

» Friday, October 8th:

Throughout the afternoon, I’ll salute John Lennon’s 70th Birthday playing highlights from my historic 1974 interview with him. What begins as an opportunity for Lennon to promote his new Walls and Bridges album quickly turns into two hours of rare Beatles stories, insights into his immigration struggles, and John as the DJ, introducing and commenting on all the music, commercials and weather.

» Saturday, October 9th:

I’ll be the Master of Ceremonies Saturday for a free Central Park Summer Stage screening of LENNONYC on what would have been John’s 70th birthday.
