Back with the new album Heartworms, James Mercer brought The Shins to the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, and the sold-out crowd clearly agreed with his comment that the combination "just feels right."

Caring about this band is not creepy. It's hard not to given The Shins' song catalog, and this wide-ranging setlist (including some great between-song interludes) did not disappoint. Neither did Mercer's latest live band, which seemed as excited as the fans to be there.

It's awhile to wait, but the The Shins will be back in New York City on November 3 at Kings Theatre. Our "Summer of FUV" concert broadcasts continue in the meantime. Next up is My Morning Jacket with Gary Clark Jr. at Forest Hills Stadium on July 15 at 6 p.m. EDT. Full schedule here.
