Host Nora Flaherty says that her favorite part of hosting Fordham Conversations is helping people to get to know Fordham. "I enjoy being able to do stories that highlight academic research and its relationship to the non-academic world. And Fordham is involved in the community in so many ways - with social service work in the city, around the country and all over the world. I want people to know about it and to think of Fordham as a resource in this community and throughout the city," says Flaherty.
Fordham Conversations has featured projects like the Graduate School of Education's early intervention and academic support program for Bronx and Harlem's Catholic school children, and a program created by law students that provides legal services to the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. "What's going on at Fordham is important," Flaherty says, "and it's important that people know about it."
