Are you opinionated about music? Then you'll want to tune in to Sound Opinions, the world's only rock & roll talk show, on WFUV Sunday afternoons at 5pm. WFUV listeners are among the first in the country to catch this new program from Chicago Public Radio. Sound Opinions is hosted by Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot, two of the finest and most-recognized music writers in the country. Jim and Greg are Chicago's top rock critics and top competitors - Jim at the Chicago Sun-Times and Greg at the Chicago Tribune. Sometimes they agree, sometimes they differ, but the conversation is always lively - like hanging out with your two best music-head friends.
Each week, you get Jim and Greg's highly opinionated rundown of the week's music news, along with their reviews of new album releases (including the patented Sound Opinions rating scale: Buy It, Burn It, or Trash It). You can also hear in-studio interviews and performances with artists like Radiohead, Jenny Lewis, Colin Meloy of the Decemberists, and Jon Brion. Plus, fun features like the "classic album dissection," as Jim and Greg take apart a landmark record to see what makes it tick, and regular installments of the rock critics' all-time favorite thing: top-ten lists.
