Tonight on TAS on FUV at 10, we'll observe the dwindling hours of St. Patrick's Day with a rueful song about whisky via Jimi Goodwin (pictured), a Shuffle from the Irish-blooded and English-hearted Morrissey (it is Monday, after all) and a dose of much-needed, sobering coffee from Sylvan Esso. Plus fresh releases from Sleeper Agent, Broods, Band of Skulls and more.

On TAS on FUV at 10 tonight, we're still basking in the glow of the SXSW Public Radio Rocks broadcast earlier today in Austin (and if you missed any of it, you'll find every set in FUV's SXSW archives). Sadly, some of us are not in balmy Austin, tracking down burritos and bands, but freezing in New York. Although we're not getting the weekend started in a beastly frame of mind, on tonight's show we seem to have music from Wild Beasts, the Beastie Boys (pictured), Wild Cub and a Grizzly Bear Shuffle.

Plus, new releases from SXSW artists like Wye Oak, St. Vincent and Angel Olsen.

We're very excited about the upcoming SXSW Public Radio Rocks showcase, broadcast live on FUV this Friday at noon, and as a harbinger of good things to come, on TAS on FUV tonight at 10, some of the artists and bands making an impact in Austin this week, like Temples, Pins and Eagulls. Since Damon Albarn is headlining Public Radio Rocks, we'll have a Shuffle from Blur, plus more great music from Lo-Fang, Cloud Nothings, Joanna Gruesome, The Replacements and more.

Yuck - FUV Live - 2014

by Kara Manning

Yuck has more than persevered following the departure of frontman Daniel Blumberg in early 2013. Guitarist Max Bloom, who wrote the bulk of the music on the band's 2011 self-titled debut, is now at the helm, and the London-based band released a bold and dreamy sophomore album, Glow & Behold, last fall.

TAS On FUV For Monday, January 6

by Kara Manning

Tonight on TAS on FUV at 10, we'll endure the plummeting temperatures of the polar vortex together while listening to new (and warm as a woolly sweater) music from I Break Horses (pictured), Cate Le Bon, The Preatures, Foxes, Hospitality and more.

TAS On FUV For Friday, January 3

by Kara Manning

Whoa, it's way too cold out there! Tonight on The Alternate Side on FUV at 10, we're thawing out with a warm, cuddly selection of songs from Toy (pictured), the Lemonheads, Jagwar Ma, Haim, Pixies, San Fermin and other TAS faves. The Shuffle features New York's own Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Poliça gets reconfigured on The Mix-Up. No long underwear or mittens required.

TAS On FUV For Thursday, January 2

by Kara Manning

Nothing like a snowstorm, subzero wind chills and howling winds to remind you that's it's early January! On tonight's TAS on FUV at 10, we'll ward off the cold with a smörgåsbord of new and vintage tracks from the likes of Lucius, Dean Wareham (pictured), the Vaselines, Belly, Cut Copy, the Cure and a Shuffle from those canny, offbeat men of MGMT

Happy 2014! TAS On FUV For January 1

by Kara Manning

Happy new year! At 10 tonight, it's the very first TAS on FUV for 2014, but we're still looking back at some of TAS' favorite releases of last year, like Vampire Weekend, Chvrches, Holy Ghost!, Arctic Monkeys, Shearwater and more. We're feeling very wistful about The Walkmen's 2013 farewell too — the band (pictured) has embarked on what they're calling an "extreme hiatus" — so tonight's Shuffle will salute that great band.

TAS On FUV For December 30

by Kara Manning

Since tomorrow's TAS on FUV is preempted for FUV's New Year's Eve Dance Party, tonight's show at 10 is the last one of 2013. So we'll look back on some bands that made their debuts over the last 12 months, like Temples (pictured), Minor Alps, London Grammar and more.
