The Bottomless Pit

The Bottomless Pit With Marshall Crenshaw For December 21

by Marshall Crenshaw

This week's show is a nice one, the first of two Holiday Season 2013 installments of "The Bottomless Pit." I'll play some seasonal favorites, some songs that were favorites of my Dad's (he passed away during the holiday season a year ago), and some new recordings from the past year that impressed me, moved me and caused me to plunk down some money.

Expect some King Curtis, Valerie June, Jerry Vale and more.

On tonight's "The Bottomless Pit" at 10, I correct a verbal gaffe that I made on the show a couple of weeks ago during a "senior moment," then I play some tracks from my broken-in but nice sounding LP of Lou Reed's great album, The Blue Mask, featuring R. Quine.

This week's "The Bottomless Pit" is another grab bag-type exercise with a bunch of recently purchased or recently acquired items. Some of this music is brand new to me and to the marketplace and some of it has been in my head forever. But again, it's all newly purchased/acquired by me.

We'll hear some tracks from the great new album by The Dirtbombs, Ooey Gooey Chewy Ka-Blooey, and some longtime favorite stuff of mine by The Rationals who are from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
