Tonight on the "Group Harmony Review" at midnight, my special guest is Little Isadore of Little Isadore and the Inquisitors. The group has been performing for many years, presenting the vocal group harmony sound of the '50s and '60s. Also featured on tonight's show will be the Valentines, the Orioles, the Harptones and much more.
On "The Group Harmony Review" at midnight, the entire show is devoted to the music of 1954. It is Volume Two of a special I did early in February, focusing on R&B songs from 60 years ago and tracing the roots of R&B and rock 'n' roll with songs from The Cadillacs, The Five Keys, The Clovers, The Flamingos (pictured) and many others.
This week kicks off the anniversary of the "The Group Harmony Review," which celebrates 51 years on the air at the end of March, and Women's History month too. The first hour will be a continuation of the focus on 1950s rock 'n' roll and R&B's transition into soul harmony. Artists will include the Temptations, Carla Thomas, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, the O'Jays and the Marvelettes.
