It goes without saying that the Fordham men’s basketball team has been struggling for quite a while now. Only once in the past 22 years have the Rams finished above .500. And with only three games left in the 2014-15 season and the Rams sitting at 9-17 overall and 4-11 in the Atlantic 10, they’re sure to finish this season with a losing record as well.

On the eve of both the new year and the first college football playoff games, the Capital One Orange Bowl saw 7th ranked Mississippi State and 12th ranked Georgia Tech battle to end their seasons with a win. While the pre-game hype centered largely on Mississippi State star quarterback Dak Prescott, who finished eighth in Heisman voting, his top receiving target, De’Runnya Wilson, found himself under the radar.

Boca Raton Bowl: The Story Behind the Game

by Joey Brander

Joey Brander : WFUV Sports

The inaugural Boca Raton Bowl was an exciting and high scoring battle that saw a kickoff returned for a touchdown, five total touchdowns accounted for by quarterback Rakeem Cato and a historic 18-catch performance by Marshall receiver Tommy Shuler in a resounding 52-23 victory for the Thundering Herd. However, the bowl did not begin with the teams storming onto the field to the cheers of the thousands of fans, nor with the opening kickoff. Rather, the game itself was the final stage of months of preparation by both the city of Boca Raton and ESPN.
