by Mike Watts

Mike Watts | WFUV Sports

Another year of Fordham basketball is complete, but this time with a different ending than ever before. The Rams are officially atop the Atlantic 10 as tournament champions, and were just one possession from reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

A close last second loss to California in the NCAA Tournament hardly took away from the team's incredible program defining season. Coach Stephanie V. Gaitley called in to One on One from the Final Four in Nashville to discuss her team's incredible season and what is in store for next season's encore.

My voice is still hoarse. My eyes are still groggy. I am still reeling with a weekend hangover that’s filled with nostalgia and some withdrawal. The culprit, however, hasn’t been alcohol intoxication. It’s been three days in Waco, Texas capped by a heartbreaking one-point loss in the first round of the women’s NCAA tournament.

by Mike Watts

WFUV Sports

With another season in the books for Fordham men's basketball, coach Tom Pecora joined us to wrap up the year and look ahead to the offseason.

Pecora answered questions about his future and that of his program head on. He talked about the next generation of Fordham players and the impact of Branden Frazier, who followed him to Fordham from Hofstra four years ago.

We also discussed the play of his forwards down the final stretch of the year and how he thinks Fordham's three remaining starting guards can improve over the offseason.

Fordham Falls to Dayton, 87-74, Eliminated from A-10 Tournament

by Anthony Pucik

WFUV Sports

After a thrilling game yesterday against George Mason in the Atlantic-10 Tournament play-in game, Fordham was unable to pull out a victory against Dayton in the next round of the tournament, losing 87-74.

Dayton was up 50-31 at the end of the first half, but a 12-5 run by Fordham to start the second half brought them closer. The Rams would cut the Flyers' lead to as little as five, but would see Dayton start to pull away, a team that shot 58.8 percent from the floor on the afternoon.

The Fordham Rams had lost eight games in row coming into tonight’s opening round in the Atlantic 10 tournament. One more loss would be the end of the season. Thanks to four players scoring in double figures and a career high 19 rebounds by Ryan Canty, Fordham lives on to play another game. The Rams prevailed 70-67 tonight over George Mason.
