Baseball & Cooperstown: Fitting Compliments

by Alex Smith, Eric Mollo

Alex Smith

I had no clue what to expect from our trip to Cooperstown, New York. Sure, I knew about the Hall of Fame and all of the history and tradition that goes along with it. I have been told, multiple times, that it is the ultimate experience for any baseball fan. But I had never been there. Well that all changed in late July, as we set off for Hall of Fame Weekend.

Talking Old School Game with an Old School Pitcher

by Eric Mollo
I’m just a generation too young, but I grew up to witness the transition. Long time baseball fans have seen how the game has changed. From day games to night games, higher payrolls, and introducing the pitch count, the game has evolved. But it was the pitch count, a strategy now used by nearly every team which limits how long starting pitchers last over the course of a game, was one topic of conversation I had with Major League Baseball’s last thirty game winner, Denny McClain.

MLB FanCave Dwellers on One on One

by Mack Rosenberg

When Alex and I walked into the MLB Fan Cave this past Saturday afternoon to host One on One, it was a pretty cool experience. You can't miss the cave monster, an 18 TV giant sitting opposite a custom made couch that may be about 18 feet long. It's all there for the Cave Dwellers, the fans picked at the beginning of the season to watch all 2430 major league baseball regular season games. It's truly astonishing what these fans have to do, and there is a reason why there's only four left.

McCarver was the recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award for major contributions to the game of baseball by a broadcaster. Elliott was the winner of the J.G.
