Listen to interviews with players from the famous Fordham 1970-71 team.
The 1970-1971 Fordham basketball team went 26-3 and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen, finishing the season ranked #9 in the Associated Press National Poll. It was the most successful team in Fordham history.
The season featured victories over Syracuse, Villanova, St. John’s, Julius Erving-led UMASS, and Florida among many others. The team also took the court to the first ever sell-out of the current Madison Square Garden in a victory over Notre Dame and once again in a heartbreaking overtime defeat to Marquette, coached by Al McGuire. We were fortunate enough to speak with members of this historic team.
