Phelps and Mainor remind 2010-2011 team of strong past
It was hard for anyone at the 2010-2011 Fordham Men’s Basketball Tip-Off Dinner to not have goosebumps after hearing from Bill Mainor and Digger Phelps.
The captain and coach of the 1970-71 team that finished the season ranked ninth in the country spoke Monday night at the Roosevelt Hotel.
The dinner honored the 70-71 team as well as built excitement for what fans are hoping is a turn-around year at Rose Hill. Tom Felice and I were on-site for the event, and were joined by Vince Hartnett who served as the voice of the 70-71 Rams.
