Rams match win total of last two seasons in stunning home upset of St. John's

Down 12 at the half and 21 (60-39) with slightly more than 16 minutes to go the Rams stormed back for a stunning and improbable 84-81 upset over St. John’s at a sold out Rose Hill Gym.  It was the first time since 2000 when Fordham upended the Johnnies 68-67 at Madison Square Garden on a layup with 3 seconds to go by Bevon Robin.

The fans stormed the court then and they stormed it now as the Rams won their third straight and fifth of the season under Head Coach Tom Pecora. The win, in the ninth game of the year matched the victory total of the past two seasons.

Hear the final call of the last two Fordham victories over St. John’s...Spero Dedes at Madison Square Garden in 2000 and Tom Felice in tonight’s battle at the Rose Hill Gym followed by Tom Felice and Martin de Jong interviewing Father McShane, the coaches (Tom Pecora, David Duke) and players (Alberto Estwick, Brenton Butler).

During the end of game pandemonium, power to the press table was lost during the Brenton Butler interview.  Undaunted WFUV was able to finish the broadcast, including the Father McShane interview, using two cell phones.

Also, Tom talked to the president of Fordham's 6th Man Club, Tom Emala, to hear his thoughts on the victory.
