Lehigh Analysis, Lafayette Preview
Fordham lost to Lehigh for the 22nd time in 24 all time meetings
Things aren’t going very well on Rose Hill this fall. After Patriot League power Lehigh walked off of Jack Coffey Field late Saturday afternoon, the Rams were stuck with their fourth consecutive loss of 2011, 34-12.
On our fifth edition of Monday Night Quarterback, Kevin Price and I reflected on Saturday’s game with Head Coach Tom Masella. We touched on the progress of Fordham’s struggling defense, the development of the Rams’ young cornerback Ian Williams – who intercepted Lehigh quarterback Chris Lum twice – and the development of quarterback Ryan Higgins. Coach Masella also touched on the improvements that his team needs to make when they travel to Easton, PA to butt heads with the Lafayette Leopards on Saturday afternoon.
In our Open the playbook portion of Monday Night Quarterback, we spoke with Assistant Coach and Offensive Line Coach Patrick Moore about the development of the Rams’ offensive front. Coach Moore brought us inside Fordham’s blocking schemes, touched on the leadership of Fordham’s senior center John Sheridan, and also addressed the possibility of one his top blockers becoming an NFL prospect.
On Monday night, we also went Inside the Huddle with Fordham safety Kevin Carter and Rams’ wide receiver Greg Wilson. Carter made four tackles against Lehigh after missing the previous two games due to injury and Greg Wilson caught three passes against the Mountain Hawks for a total of 150 yards and a touchdown.
Next Saturday the Rams will try and snap their four game slide against another Pennsylvania foe when they clash with Lafayette (2-4) in Easton, PA at 1:00. You can hear the game on 90.7 FM and wfuv.org beginning with the One on One Pregame Report at 12:50.
