The Rams start their second season under Tom Pecora.
The Fordham Rams finished last season—their first under Tom Pecora—with a 7-21 record. It took the Rams until the last game of the season to pick up their lone A-10 win, a 77-73 victory at home over UMass.
With a revamped roster featuring seven freshmen, including the highly touted Devon McMillan and the injured Jeff Short, the Rams have been picked to finish last in the A-10. Fordham will again be lead by junior double-double machine Chris Gaston, but hope for important contributions from sophomore Branden Frazier, and seniors Alberto Estwick and Kervin Bristol. If all goes well, the Rams should be able to push for double-digit wins and multiple A-10 wins for the first time since 2007-2008, but only time will tell if those two goals are obtainable or overly optimistic.
The young Rams will be tested right of the bat—they open the season Saturday at 4 on the road against the #5 Syracuse Orange—in a game the Rams hope will showcase the strides they’ve made since last season.
