Fordham falls to 2-10 in conference play.
A torrid first half effort was spoiled in a matter of seconds as the Rams woes continued against the second place Saint Louis Billikens. With just over a minute remaining before the break, Fordham trailed 20-16 on the strength of a staunch defensive effort that made up for a sputtering offense. A pair of threes off the bench from Billikens small forward Cody Ellis pushed the defecit to 10 points before the halftime buzzer, however, a defecit from which the Rams would never recover.
The Saint Louis offense made up for lost time in the second half, pushing the lead to 26 points before the Rams cut it to 20 at the final buzzer, losing the game 66-46. Kervin Bristol, who tallied 13 rebounds in the first half, added just one to that total as he sat out the majority of the second half due to foul trouble. Chris Gaston scored all 14 of his points in the final period, leading the charge for Fordham. The loss dropped the Rams to 2-10 in the Atlantic-10, 9-16 overall.
They return to action Wednesday when they host St. Bonaventure at the Rose Hill Gym in a rematch of 44 point loss earlier in the season. Tune into 90.7 FM and WFUV.org at 6:55pm for the One on One pregame report.
