Fordham Falls to Fairfield 74-71 at Stabler Arena on Tuesday Night
By Chris Marasco
At the end of Fordham’s two game road trip, they return to the Bronx with a record of 1-4. On Monday night the Rams took down Penn 70-68 giving them their first victory of the season. Tuesday against Fairfield, their solid play continued but Fordham was unable to pull out the win in a game that shifted scores over ten times. The final outcome was 74-41 in favor of the Stags who improved to 3-2 overall.
In the game Fordham was led by Junior Guard Branden Frazier who tallied 22 points to go along with his 7 assists. Jeff Short also contributed for 17 points in 28 minutes of work.
Fairfield’s Desmond Wade led all scorers with 26 points and was 6-12 from three point range. He was joined by Amadou Sidibe as the only Stag players in double figures. Sidibe had 10 points and 8 boards on the night.
The schedule does not get much easier for a Fordham Squad that plays five of their next six contests on the road, after playing their first four away from home. All of this will most likely be without Chris Gaston, who missed the last two games to undergo knee surgery. Gaston has led the team in both scoring and rebounding the past three seasons.
The Rams play again Thursday November 29th as they host the Manhattan Jaspers for the battle of the Bronx. Game time is 7:30 PM and tune in at 7:25 for the One on One pre-game report.
