Fordham Routed by Ole Miss 95-68

SEC’s Rebels Too Much for Rams

In their first ever game in the state of Mississippi, the Fordham Rams were beaten by the Ole Miss Rebels 95-68. With the loss, the Rams end their non-conference schedule with a record of 4-11.

The Rams got out to a fast start and took an early lead, hitting four of their first five shots. But the Rebels got right back in the game, thanks in particular to the efforts of Marshall Henderson, who leads the SEC in scoring average with 18 points per game. Henderson got his shot going early, and before long the Rebels took the lead and would never look back. Henderson finished with 21 points. The Ole Miss starting forwards were also a huge factor in the game. Reginald Buckner and Murphy Holloway combined for 31 points and 21 rebounds.

For Fordham, Ryan Canty was the best player on the floor all game, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Coming off of a strong game against Monmouth, Bryan Smith had a nice game for the Rams, scoring 14 points. However the Rams received little production from their two leading scorers, Branden Frazier and Chris Gaston, who had 6 points apiece.

The Rams start their A-10 schedule at home against Duquesne on January 9th at 7 pm. All the action from the Rose Hill Gym can be heard on 90.7 FM and
