Explorers Shoot the Lights Out; Too Much For Rams
Tom Pecora tried to change things up by inserting Jermaine Meyers and Ryan Rhoomes into the starting lineup, but it wasn't too effective. The La Salle Explorers jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and never looked back, crushing the Rams 89-53.
La Salle's offensive performance was one to remember. They tied an all-time school record by hitting a remarkable 18 three-pointers in the game. Ramon Galloway went 5 of 7 from beyond the arc, and that wasn’t even the best effort on the team. Sam Mills, a 28% three-point shooter on the year, went 7-8 from downtown. The Explorers' 18 3’s alone outscored the Rams 54-53.
For Fordham, there were few bright spots. One of them was Jermaine Meyers, who responded well to being moved back into the starting lineup. He had 10 points, 6 assists and only one turnover. Another bright spot was walk-on Leo Walsh, who not only saw game action, but also scored two points, and recorded a rebound and a block.
