Severe's 32 not enough to stave off Hawks

On Saturday afternoon the Fordham Rams basketball team fell on the road to the Monmouth Hawks by a score of 87-78 at the Multipurpose Activity Center. The loss puts Fordham at 6-4 overall, while Monmouth improves to 6-6.

Severe's 32 In the game freshman guard Jon Severe put up a career day as he finished with a season high 32 points. He was 8-13 from three-point range on the day after shooting 6 of 8 from downtown in half number one.

Fordham’s largest lead in the second half was 13 points, which they squandered after a 17 to 1 scoring run for the Hawks in the final stages of the game. In front of a home crowd of 1,875, Monmouth capitalized on a late three from Andrew Nicholas to give them a 80-77 lead, and then a Josh James three which put their lead at 5 points.

Travion Leonard pitched in with 6 points, 6 boards, and 3 blocks in the game, Ryan Roomes contributed 7 points, and Branden Frazier with 12.
