March 10, 2013, a date which was 600 days ago, and 18 Devils shootouts ago. On that date, the New Jersey Devils were at home against the Winnipeg Jets in a game that would be decided in a shootout. The Devils would go on to win that game 3-2, winning the shootout 1-0 with Patrick Elias scoring the only shootout goal between the two teams. Nobody who left that arena that night knew that they just saw the last New Jersey Devils shoot out win in exactly 600 days

When the Rangers traded Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Rick Nash back in the summer of 2012, they anticipated receiving the left wing that averaged over 30 goals a season. In his first two seasons with the Blueshirts, however, Nash only scored 21 goals in the lockout shortened 2012-13 campaign and 26 last season where he only played 65 games due to a concussion. But this season, the Rangers might finally be getting the Nash they have been expecting.

A lot has happened in the National Hockey League since March 10, 2013.
The Chicago Blackhawks have won the Stanley Cup, and so have the Los Angeles Kings. The New York Rangers made the Stanley Cup Finals after trading away their captain in 2014. TJ Oshie of the St. Louis Blues went from a little known right winger to a national superstar. The success of the Winter Classic led to the Stadium Series and more outdoor hockey and Jaromir Jagr became the seventh player in league history to score 700 goals.
One thing that hasn’t happened since March 10, 2013? The New Jersey Devils have not won in the shootout in a regular season game.
