Fordham Comes Up Short at #20 Cincinnati

by Kenny Ducey

Fordham traveled to Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati Saturday night trying to beat an FBS team for the first time since Dwight Eisenhower was president, but they were defeated 49-17 at the hands of the Bearcats. A bright spot for the Rams once again was the kicking of Patrick Murray, who set a school and Patriot League record with a 55-yard Field Goal in the 2nd Quarter. Ryan Higgins was an impressive 31-42 with 262 yards passing and a late touchdown to Brian Wetzel.

Fordham Women's Soccer Notebook

As is customary, teams are tested the greatest when they go on the road. The Fordham Women’s Soccer team felt the effects of this proven theory, falling to 2-2 in Atlantic Ten Conference play after a two-loss weekend in Virginia. They dropped a 6-0 decision to VCU and, with an unfortunate bounce, lost a heart-breaker to Richmond 1-0.

It was the first conference road trip for the girls and the travel was noticeable. Coach Ness Selmani knows all too well that road games are never easy.
