With NFL Friday and the season coming to a close, there was no shortage of star power in the Super Bowl Edition of the show.

Ricky and I had a cavalcade of guests, starting off with Steve Gray’s weekly Giants report. Steve broke down the matchups as he has been doing all season long, including the Giants keys to victory, as well as his prediction.

Another week of the Stephanie Gaitley coach's show, as Alex and myself finally made it back to the WFUV studios for the show. Coach Gaitley reflected on Fordham's fourth 1 point loss of the season, 56-55 to LaSalle at home on Wednesday. There were certainly plenty of positives on the scoresheet, as Fordham shot nearly 50 percent from the field but in the end it was LaSalle's defense that proved to be too much for the Rams. Fordham is now 11-12 and will head back to Philly for the third time this season to take on Temple tomorrow.

The Rose Hill Gym on a Saturday afternoon is a special place. Natural light emanates over the court from the windows right above the south basket. The sleepiness of the weekend morning slowly dissipates as the energy of nearly 3,000 individuals fills the small, gothic building that more closely resembles a chapel than it does a gymnasium. But the quality that makes the Bronx matinee most special is a Fordham victory.

Fordham secured its second conference win with a 63-58 victory over the George Washington Colonials, making this the first season in which the team has won multiple Atlantic-10 games since 2007-08.

New York Jet fans have grown accustomed to big guarantees over the last few years. Namely, Rex Ryan’s press conference promises about his team heading to the Super Bowl all of the last three years. None of them have come true however. It seems now that a guarantee is only a PR move, and usually a negative one, brazened confidence that lacks character and depth. But back in the Jets’ heyday, when a kid named “Broadway Joe” helmed the most important position in football, guarantees weren’t for show; they were for real.
