The Fordham Rams continued their pursuit of an undefeated season with a narrow defeat over Holy Cross this Saturday 32-30. Fordham was led, as they have been all season, by quarterback Michael Nebrich who became the first player in school history to throw for over 500 yards.
The Fordham Rams are now 7-0 for the first time since they went 7-0-1 in the 1930 season. Fordham (6-0) and Lehigh (4-1) seemed nearly even through 29 minutes and 40 seconds. A 40-yard touchdown to Sam Ajala with 13 seconds left in the first half proved to be a turning point, as the Rams outguned the Mountain Hawks down the stretch to extend their unbeaten start.
As the clock ticked to zero, the scoreboard read 52-7, a resounding victory for Fordham to keeping them undefeated for the season. However, just a half before, the Rams went into the locker room up just 10-0 and having blown an opportunity to score right before the half. Coach Joe Moorhead said the offense needed to come out fast in the second half, and they did.
