Fordham Falls to Harvard 73-64

The Fordham Rams continued their rough start to the 2012 season this afternoon, losing at Harvard 73-64. Fordham did have an 11 point lead in the first half, their largest of the season, but saw it slip away in minutes as the Crimson got the inside game going. Three Rams would foul out late in the second half, as they let the Crimson make 29 out of 39 free throws to put the game out of reach.

On The Road Again

The Rose Hill Gym on a Saturday afternoon is a special place. Natural light emanates over the court from the windows right above the south basket. The sleepiness of the weekend morning slowly dissipates as the energy of nearly 3,000 individuals fills the small, gothic building that more closely resembles a chapel than it does a gymnasium. But the quality that makes the Bronx matinee most special is a Fordham victory.

With expectations high after knocking off Georgia Tech and #22 ranked Harvard in their last two home games, Fordham came up a little short Saturday afternoon when hosting the team that’s been the class of the A-10 for the past decade, the Xavier Musketeers. In a back and forth game, the young Rams yielded to the Musketeers 67-59, falling to 7-8 on the season and 0-2 in the Atlantic 10.
