Eric Holland

The word "travel" is nothing new to WFUV's fill-in air personality Eric Holland - after flying all over the globe to co-host a bilingual radio show in Japan and program a classic rock station in Honolulu, he's seen it all. With these exotic endeavors behind him, Eric has landed in New York, where he is proud to call WFUV home.

After growing up in Massachusetts, Eric attended Ithaca College, where his radio career took flight. Following graduation, Eric crisscrossed the country, working at WAQY in Springfield, MA and at WKGB in upstate New York, before hitting Charleston, SC, New Orleans, Memphis, Austin, Denver, and, eventually, Honolulu, where he was the Program Director/Afternoon Host at Classic Rock 98.5. After this exhausting quest, he ended up back in Massachusetts, where he taught classes at Emerson College, and later received his Master of Arts.

In Boston, Eric found that his thirst for travel still lingered. He flew off to Tokyo, Japan and co-hosted a radio program called Henna Communication, which featured popular music from all over the world. In the fall of 2007, Eric returned to the states. This time, Brooklyn was his destination. New York is where he found WFUV, and it proved to be a perfect match for him.

"It's an amazing treat to be able to draw on all the different genres in the FUV music library and be able to mix jazz, reggae, blues, soul, and funk in with rock.  It's also a pleasure to be able to work with some of the best DJs I've ever heard."

Comfortable in front of the camera too, Eric has also been doing music reports on NY1, since July of 2012. He currently resides in Sugar Hill, where he sees a lot of live jazz, bicycles when the weather is good, and kicks back with episodes of The Simpsons and Family Guy.
