Bill de Blasio

Morning Brief: March 2

Sounding Like a Broken Record

On March 2, 1962, a young Wilt Chamberlain set one of the most famous records in sports, scoring 100 points in one basketball game for the Philadelphia Warriors in their win over the New York Knicks. It got us thinking about some great records in music: Elton John’s 64 (or even more?) concerts at MSG? Bruce’s 4 hour, 6 minute show in Helsinki? (Which pales in comparison to Canadian musican’s Gonzales’ world record 27-hour concert in 2009). Know any other good records? Comment on the page.
