Looking back over the decades music has always been integral to Cara's life. She grew up in a home filled with music. In college she volunteered as an usher at concerts in Boston that included Frank Zappa, REM, Squeeze, and yes, Julio Iglesias. Her professional background before coming to FUV was pretty diverse, from work in direct marketing and advertising, to owning her own restaurant, to a fundraising position with the National Audubon Society. "Somehow, I always knew my marketing training would some day serve a higher cause," Cara says. "I have my dream job, drumming up support for the best radio station in the NY metropolitan area."
"I feel really lucky to be part of the FUV family," Cara says, "adding another Jersey girl to the staff. (Asbury Park is my hometown, and my cousin played guitar with Bruce!) My musical tastes are as eclectic as the FUV format... Van Morrison, Dylan, Talking Heads to newer bands like My Morning Jacket, Brandi Carlile and Ryan Adams. I also love the blues and some funk and soul."
Cara's favorite part of the job has been meeting and talking to the wonderful, loyal members, at the station and out in the world.
