Okkervil River: FUV Live

by

The Silver Gymnasium is the seventh full-length album from Okkervil River, and it finds frontman Will Sheff taking a stroll down memory lane. The songs capture memories of Sheff's youth, growing up in New Hampshire in the '80s, abundant with details about bad TV, cassette tapes and hours spent playing Atari.

As part of the the album's quirky, retro promotion, Sheff actually developed an 8-bit video game (warning: it's addictive) and even released the new songs on a cassette (although finding a vintage cassette player is up to Okkervil River's fans).

Sheff and his Okkervil River bandmates recently visited WFUV and you can watch videos of them in performance below and listen to the entire session in the FUV archives.

You can also hear the entire Okkervil River session on TAS on 91.5 WNYE on Friday, October 11, at 11am EDT, also streaming online.
