Dum Dum Girls: FUV Live

Singer and songwriter Dee Dee Penny leads New York-via-L.A. rockers Dum Dum Girls into dark, shimmering pop territory on their latest release, Too True. The band recruited producer and songwriter Richard Gottehrer, who has penned catchy, classic songs like "My Boyfriend's Back," "Hang On Sloopy" and "I Want Candy," and The Raveonettes’ Sune Rose Wagner to work on the new songs.

Dum Dum Girls are in the midst of a North American tour which brought them back to New York for two shows this week, sweeping into Bowery Ballroom last night and taking on Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight, March 26, for a sold out show.

Too True is already one of the standout releases of the year, so we were really pleased that Dee Dee and the band stopped by Studio A to treat us some tracks from the record. Below, watch Dum Dum Girls perform "Under These Hands" and "Are You Okay" and listen to the band's entire session with Russ Borris now in the FUV Vault or on TAS on 91.5 WNYE this Friday, March 28, at 11a.m., also streaming online.
