New York City landmarks including the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center will be lighted red to mark the city's 30th annual AIDS walk.

Writer and actor Harvey Fierstein hosted Thursday's lighting ceremony at the Empire State Building.

The famous skyscraper and other buildings will be lighter red through Sunday.

Participating buildings include 4 Times Square, the John F. Kennedy Airport tower and the New York Stock Exchange.

The AIDS Walk is Sunday in Central Park.

The Gay Men's Health Crisis says the annual fundraiser has raised more than $139 million for HIV programs and services in the tri-state area since the first AIDS walk in 1986.
