Christopher Owens: TAS In Session

We first became aware of the talents of Christopher Owens a few years ago through his band Girls. Their full-length debut was simply titled Album, and the dreamy songs on it recall warm and hazy California pop. Girls went on to release one more full-length album and an EP before breaking up in 2012. Without wasting much time at all, Owens got straight to work and released his solo debut, Lysandre, a year later. Incredibly, he has already made his second solo album.

Released just last month, A New Testament is a country record, complete with a cowboy-hatted Owens on the cover. Of the new album, he says, "It’s a testament to honest, earnest, simple songwriting — 'three chords and the truth.'"

Although he is solo artist now, Christopher did bring a full crew with him when he stopped by Studio A to play us some of his new songs. You can see those performances below and listen to his session via the FUV Vault.
