Courtney Marie Andrews: SXSW 2018

Possessing a voice that is seemingly once in a generation, Courtney Marie Andrews has spent much of the last few years on the road. She settled on Los Angeles to record her new album, May Your Kindness Remain, which is influenced by the struggles many go through with mental illness.

There’s a warmth in the production that connects immediately, allowing the listener to both identify with Andrews' words and take comfort in them. But as she showed in this poolside Hotel San José performance of the album's title track, that same tenderness comes across with just her voice and guitar too.
