End of Love at WFUV with Darren Devivo

The band End Of Love initially came together over a decade ago here in New York City. After a series of starts, stops, delays and few lineup adjustments, they have finally released their first album, Ghosts On The Radio. At the core of End Of Love are bassist and backing vocalist Irwin Menken (who has worked with Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo), drummer Jody Stephens (of Big Star) and guitarist and keyboardist Jay Deegan, but, the band also relies on the talents of an array of satellite members and special guests. Ghosts On The Radio boasts contributions from Nels Cline, Mikael Jorgensen and John Stirratt from Wilco, guitarist Lee Ranaldo and indie pop icon, Chris Stamey

Irwin and Jody first visited with me in the summer of 2014 to talk about the band’s impending debut album. Now, with that album finally complete and available, they returned to WFUV and this time brought the full band for an in studio session. Joining Irwin, Jody and Jay Deegan are vocalists Elisa Peimer and Anna Rose as well as guitarist Chris Parrello.
