Following Heated Debate, Bill Clinton Rallies Votes for Hillary

While Hillary Clinton remains far ahead in the polls for the upcoming New York primary, last night's fiery debate with Senator Bernie Sanders demonstrated that it is still anyone's race. In an attempt to get more young voters to the polls, former President Bill Clinton hosted a rally at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx.

Responding to some of Sanders' commentary from last night, Clinton took special offense to one of his remarks regarding the South. He said, "About the only thing that disappointed me about that debate last night was the sneering reference her opponent made to her mammoth victory in the South."

"That's just the South. We know how conservative they are," said Clinton in a sarcastic tone.

He responded, "Well excuse me, but Democrats need to win Florida and North Carolina not only to get elected, but they are states of the future — highly diverse. And she won a big victory there."

Bill Clinton attributed his wife's string of victories in Southern primaries to her popularity with and sustained effort towards African-Americans nationwide.

Throughout the rally, Clinton continued to paint Hillary Clinton as the sensible and effective choice for Democratic candidate. "In 45 years of trying to help people live their dreams and solve their problems, of all the people I've ever worked with, she's the best change-maker. And there's a lot of difference between talking about change and making it."
