FUV's Rita Houston found one of her favorite concerts in the heart of New York City and another in the fields of Manchester, Tennessee.

We're shining a spotlight on live concerts and performances. The FUV on-air staffers compiled individual lists of five memorable and marvelous shows that have stayed with them over the years, for one reason or another.

Rita Houston's Five Favorite Concerts (FUV Program Director, Host of "The Whole Wide World"):

David Bowie at Madison Square Garden (July 1983):
I was already a huge Bowie fan, but this was when the rest of the world found out about Bowie. I'll always remember the stage set, his dance moves and my long lost t-shirt from this show.

LCD Soundsystem at Madison Square Garden (April 2011):
The farewell show is well documented in the film "Shut Up and Play the Hits" (so worth seeing!), but I was there on the floor right in front. It was equal parts dance party, concert and sad farewell.

Golden Smog at Tramps (April 1996):
This was a high watermark moment for that sweet spot in music where rock, punk and country collide. The all-star players and their love of music was what this all too short-lived band was all about. And what New York music fan will ever forget the days of Tramps.

Elton John in Las Vegas (October 2012):
We traveled to Vegas as a wedding gift to see Elton, and The Beatles' Love. Elton was in fine form and the night ended with a sing-a-long on stage to "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting."

Paul McCartney at Bonnaroo (June 2013):
The set list says it all. And Paul was like a teenager on stage, full of boundless, youthful energy. It didn't hurt that I was lucky enough to watch the show from the side of the stage!
